When our daughter was born I had never considered homeschooling but the more I thought about sending her to school and the more I prayed about what was best for her soul the more convinced I became that it was the right choice for us. So, I began to read and research the possiblities.

First, I read lots of books about homeschooling.  You'll find many of them listed in my Library.  I don't necessarily recommend all of those but I ALWAYS recommend that a new homeschooler read Educating the Whole Hearted Child.  It's my favorite introduction to the world of homeschooling and a wonderful resource!

Then I came up with my "
Reasons for Homeschooling"
We've basically followed a traditional school schedule with summers off, although at times I've taken off from Thanksgiving through the new year so I've started early some summers.

I really love History so I've created detailed plans for that subject.  If you want links to all of those files click the History Plans button.

NOTE: My lesson plans are all saved as PDF files.  To read them you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader.  This is a free program that is really easy to use.  If you don't have it and wish to download it just click here:  ADOBE
